The Surly Bookworm is...

The Surly Bookworm ("TSB") is a lover of stories. She derives a great deal of pleasure in launching herself wholly into other people's writing...to subsequently judge it as though she has any authority to do so. Since she learned to speak, she has been telling tales and bullshitting people. Upon becoming literate, she began crafting smash hits such as 'The Kittens Who Loved Their Mom a Googleplex' and the award-winning classic 'The Dove Who Looked for Worms'. Her writing has evolved with age to include dozens of other short stories, essays, memoirs, and original poetry, but she remains a total amateur. TSB is married to her best friend; they have two human children together. The family is collectively employed by two terribly behaved cats who have seven legs between them. When she is not being a surly bookworm/writer, TSB is a part-time French instructor, travel enthusiast, animal lover, art history nerd, introvert, retired dancer, injured runner, constant daydreamer, casual cook, unqualified linguist, and semi-professional review writer for various brands of althleisure apparel. She believes in the Oxford comma and that there is no such thing as too much garlic.
